[Web Seminar] Efforts and Feasibility of Carbon Recycling

Organization and analysis of initiatives and feasibility regarding "hydrogen, synthetic fuels, CCU, and carbon recycling."

As the trend towards decarbonization accelerates globally, hydrogen is gaining attention. In the short term, the utilization of blue hydrogen (fossil fuels + CCS) is expected, but in the long term, green hydrogen (derived from renewable energy) will also be required. Green hydrogen is primarily produced through Power to Gas, which needs to be understood in the context of the integration of renewable energy into the grid. In terms of hydrogen utilization, there are options beyond direct use of hydrogen, such as converting hydrogen into synthetic fuels. If synthetic fuels require CO2, this is also related to CCU (Carbon Capture and Utilization) and carbon recycling. In pursuit of carbon neutrality, this paper will introduce domestic and international trends regarding Power to Gas, synthetic fuels, and CCU, while exploring the potential and challenges of these technologies.
